Artist Statement:
My paintings are rooted in nature-inspired expressionism, where botanical forms, symbolic imagery, ornamental pattern, and gestural abstraction come together in layered, emotionally charged compositions.
I work primarily from memory, imagination, and observation, allowing natural forms to shift between recognition and abstraction. Flowers, foliage, figures, and recurring symbols become part of a visual language through which I explore transformation, resilience, memory, and the emotional force of nature.
My process is intuitive and physical. I build surfaces through layered colour, expressive drawing, scraping, overpainting, and tactile mark-making, often balancing dense areas of movement with quieter passages. My background in fashion and design continues to influence my sense of rhythm, pattern, composition, and surface.
I am interested in creating paintings that feel immediate from a distance but reveal greater complexity up close. Rather than describing nature literally, I use it as a starting point for exploring inner experience, change, and the tension between fragility and strength.
