About This Work

This painting was created as a response to quiet, considered spaces – the kind of rooms where thought deepens, light softens, and art is truly experienced. Study Room – Over Monet’s Garden was inspired by the idea of a collector’s private sanctuary: a place of reflection, reading, creativity and stillness, where art is not decoration but presence. The work draws loosely from the emotional language of Monet’s garden – not in form, but in spirit. The layering, colour transitions and movement reference the way nature blurs into light, and light into atmosphere. Rather than recreating the garden, I wanted to reimagine it through my own language of texture, depth and contemporary expression. This piece was created to sit in a space of intellect and calm. A room where ideas live. Where creativity is nurtured. Where the mind wanders. The soft drifts of turquoise, jade, coral and rose move through the surface like reflections on water or petals caught in motion, creating a rhythm that is both soothing and quietly energising. Texture is central to my work, and here it is used deliberately to create a sense of richness and permanence. The surface is built in layers – scraped, sculpted and reworked – so that the painting reveals itself slowly over time. It is a piece that rewards looking. The longer you sit with it, the more it gives back. Collectors are drawn to my work for its depth, originality and tactile quality. Each painting is entirely unique, created through an intuitive process that cannot be replicated.
